Description : Established in 1992, the Hutendukay Museum of Diola Culture – better known as the Museum of Mlomp – showcases Diola cultural heritage within an architectural setting inspired by the traditional impluvium house. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment, the BHS Foundation supported this community museum by completely renovating its architecture and redesigning its exhibition layout. This work involved creating a detailed inventory of each of the museum's objects; equipping the museum with solar power to provide lighting; reorganizing the exhibition around eight dedicated themes; producing a museum catalog (available in English, French, and Spanish); cleaning and treating each object using natural preventive conservation methods; and redesigning the museum according to the new scenography.
